For pure fantasy, the trade version of Bettina Rheims and Serge Bramly''s "Rose, C''est Paris" falls somewhere between the imaginative work of David LaChapelle (minus the color) and the black and white dark themes of the late Helmut Newton. The combination book and DVD (sans the accoutrements of the deluxe edition which included a pricey suitcase package) the story revolves around twin sisters and their sexy, intriguing adventures in the city of Paris. While the story may be somewhat murky and obscure, it is filled with cinematic images of fetish fantasy, surrealism, eroticism, European architecture and the backdrop of France that entice the viewer to find out what is really going on with this cast. Cameos from Charlotte Rampling, Naomi Campbell, Monica Bellucci and other divas all add to the oeuvre presented here. Suggestive, alluring, dark and mysterious, yet filled with a stylistic continuity that hold the disparate elements all together.
